What to Expect
We’ll begin our private guided walking tour with the plaza at the new Whitney Museum at the south end of the High Line. From there we’ll head north to explore the outdoor elevated park of the High Line and the stellar architecture that is developing currently along the park. We can offer the historical context of how such an elevated park was developed and stop to discover more about the outdoor artworks installed along the High Line. Along the way, you’ll be able get an overview of the Chelsea gallery scene that passes underneath the High Line. You’ll also get great views of the constantly evolving architecture and unique sculptures of Hudson Yards. For those interested in the foodie culture of NYC, we can also explore the Chelsea Market. As we do not offer public group tours, all of our excursions are private. Your tour will be led by a qualified art historian with a background in modern and contemporary art and experience in the field.
During the customization process, you can let us know your preference in:
- focusing more on the architecture or the artworks
- the depth of historical details and development around the Meatpacking District
- stopping to explore food at the Chelsea market or art in the Chelsea galleries
- discovering the ever-changing Hudson Yards area
For those interested in purchasing works of art, we can arrange for a behind-the-scenes viewing of galleries’ larger holdings.
